While the car and environment modeling weren't bad, the sub-30fps frame rate ¿ combined with atrocious flicker, pop-in, and pop-out ¿ made gamers question the power of Sega's new black box. There are also a bunch of new cars, along with Uma, the super-low-polygon racehorse. Daytona on the Saturn plays extremely well with either the Arcade Racer steering wheel, or the standard digital control pad. Gamers saw the ugly results in the first home port of Daytona - a game that couldn't hold a graphical candle to Namco's Ridge Racer on the Playstation.
